Children
from many Mayan villages in Southern Belize do not have enough pencils
to go around in their classrooms. They also have no books, paper, computers,
or even the electricity to run them.
Children from many cities and towns throughout the United States and Canada have more than enough pencils and books to go around. |

Pencil Pals is an effort toward providing opportunities for children, who have more than enough pencils, to share with children who have none, while establishing an avenue of communication between classrooms -- providing valuable intercultural experiences for all.

Pencil Pals mission is to provide pencils, other school supplies, books, computers -- and clean energy to run them -- for schools with limited, or no resources, and to foster exchanges between children of different cultures.
