Inground VS. Above
Inground Pools are more aesthetic than above the ground pools but they have their drawbacks too.
As an investment an inground pool will day one lose 70% of it's value. Example put in a $50,000 inground pool and it will only raise your home value by about $15,000.
The inground pool will also raise your property taxes and increase your insurance.

What To Look For In A Swimming Pool
Inground Pools come in three types. Vinyl Liner Pools, Fiberglass Pools, and shot concrete better known as Gunite Pools.
Like anything they all have their plus and minus positive and negatives.
Vinyl Liner Pools come in many shapes and sizes, are easy on the feet, have diving potential, and look great. The Vinyl Liner Pool negative is that every ten to 15 years you will need a new liner installed.
Gunite Pools can be custom built to any design you desire and by far look the best. The Gunite Pool minus is that they are rough on the feet, require more maintenance, and are the most expensive.
Fiberglass Pools are becoming very popular and are easy to install. The Fiberglass drawback is they are limited in size and when their life expectancy is over you have to buy a whole new pool.
